Dear Mayfield Community,

As part of World Book Day’s ‘Share a Story’ theme and to tie in with the transition to the new building/90th anniversary celebration, I’d like to get staff and students (current and former), sharing their stories about their time at Mayfield/Northern Grammar.  I hope to be able to collate/ present these in a format to be shared with the school and the wider community.

We have many students in our through school who have relations (some have four generations) who have been schooled here at Mayfield formerly Northern Grammar. Many staff and parents, old and new have tales to tell of their time at this school and as we transition from the current building of nearly 90 years to the new building planned for 2021,  I’m hoping you can help support and promote this community focussed activity.

It would be great if you could all enter a short tale about a memorable moment at Mayfield: a particular lesson, a visit or visitors, a particular classroom, teacher or lesson, an activity on-site, special event, proud moment, humorous tale, or house event. We’d like these to reflect the broad range of experience, community values and mutual respect at the heart of our school.

If you know of any ex-colleagues/students please ask them to take part too.

Please encourage our students to share their stories but also to collect stories from their own families and friends in the community too. These can be written, word processed or even recorded and transcribed. Please pass all entries to me BRN via pigeon hole or via 112.

House achievement points to be awarded accordingly to the house with the most-least entries.

Thanks for supporting this community project.

Share a story about Mayfield and be part of a bigger story…

Miss Barnes
