Join In With This Summer’s Reading Challenge

Mayfield is delighted to be supporting the annual Summer Reading Challenge.  This year’s challenge is called ‘Animal Agents’ and it is now open to all 4 to 11 year olds.

Each year, thousands of children across the country take part in the Summer Reading Challenge.  The aim of the challenge is to get children to read any six books of their choice from their library during the summer holidays.  Every year there’s a different theme; this year it’s Animal Agents, illustrated by the UK’s best-selling children’s illustrator Tony Ross.

You can enrol your child in the Summer Reading Challenge at your local library.  Every child who completes the challenge will receive a certificate or a medal from the Local Library.

More information about the Summer Reading Challenge can be found by this link https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/join-in

Mrs Sheppard is organising a special picnic in September for any primary aged child who brings their certificate or medal into school to show that they have completed the challenge.
