We are extremely proud of the start our Year 11s have made to their mock exams - it is clear that they have been revising hard and hopefully, they are starting to see all that hard work pay off.

In assembly today we talked about the importance of looking after yourself and managing stress levels - we acknowledged that they will feel stress during exam periods because they want to do so well, but we also talked to them about simple ways they can manage this stress. In particular, we asked them to give themselves one point for each of the following they had done in the last 24 hours:

  • Done some high quality
  • Had at least 8 hours of sleep
  • Had at least 2 litres of water to drink
  • Taken at least 30 minutes of exercise
  • Eaten 3 meals
  • Had at least 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables
  • Not used digital devices/social media after 9 pm
  • Done something fun!

If your son or daughter does start to feel stressed over the coming months with their exams then please do encourage them to do something from this list - not only will they help to lower their stress levels but they will also ensure that they feel better prepared (mentally and physically) to perform well in their exams.

As ever, if you are worried about your child at all then please do contact their form tutor or their Head of House.
