New Arrangements for Primary Section School Meals

We have a new catering provider called Caterlink when the children return after the summer holidays in September.  This will lead to some changes in the arrangements for Primary section school meals.

Junior Section

Caterlink will use the Scopay system to pay for and order school meals.  This is the same system that we use to pay for school trips, ties and music lessons and parents should already have a working log-in for this site.

When you log on to this site, you will now see that there is an option to make a payment for your child’s dinner money and order their meals in advance.  You can choose the days when you want your child to have a school meal or to bring a packed lunch.  Each school meal costs £2.10 per day and you are able to select your child’s choices in advance through the Scopay system.

It will still be possible for your child to choose their lunch on the morning as long as there are sufficient funds in your child’s dinner money account.

Some parents may still have a remaining balance in their Feeding Hungry Minds account with the previous catering provider ISS.  Portsmouth City Council have advised us that they are working with Caterlink to get these balances moved across the new system, but this may not happen in time for the start of the new term.  It is therefore advisable to pay in a balance in your child’s Scopay meals account so that they are able to order from Thursday 5th September.

Children in the Junior Section may still bring in a packed lunch, as long as this conforms to our Packed Lunch Policy which is available on the school website.

Infant Section

All children in Years R, 1 and 2 will continue to receive a free school meal each day.  Packed lunches are not allowed in the Infant Section.

Improvements to service

To improve service for the children, Caterlink are introducing a second service point from September.  Children in the Junior Section will be using the New Canteen to eat their lunches, while Infant Section children will continue to use the existing Canteen.  This will help to reduce queuing times and ensure that children do not feel rushed to finish their lunches.

Parent Drop-ins, Wednesday 4th September

We have organised a parent drop-in event from 1.00 – 2.30pm on Wednesday 4th September in the Main Hall when a member of the Finance Team will be available to answer any questions about the Scopay system and to help parents understand this new system.
