Recently, pupils across Mayfield School have been visited by a number of inspiration speakers as part of the school’s “My only limitation is my ambition” (MOLIMA) week. Speakers have included:

Baby sign language tutor, Helen Gibson
Author, Simon Philip
Dance teacher, Bessie Cursons
Olympic medallist, Sir Ben Ainslie
The week has been coordinated by class teacher, Amber Sheppard who said “As a school we actively encourage our pupils to be personally ambitious. Being able to hear from adults who have been highly successful in their chosen fields has been inspirational for the pupils”. Pupils from the school made the following comments:
Nathan Dawson - Year 2 "The visitors have taught me to learn new and different things and to be resilient if things don't go right the first time."
Evie-Rose Hunt - Year 2 "I have liked having visitors because they have taught us about jobs we didn't know about."
Zack Turnbull - Year 2 "Before this week I didn't know about the fossils found in rocks, but now I know I want to find out more about fossils."
Olivia - Year 2 "I found out that I find rocks really interesting! I love Science!"
Eliza Nicholson-Pugh - Year 2 The visitors have taught us new skills. They have told us about the importance of being resilient."
Dollie-Rae Green - Year 2 "Learning about sign language has been difficult but interesting. I would love to learn more."
Headteacher, David Jeapes said “we are so grateful to all of the speakers who have given up their time so generously. The impact across our school has been amazing and we are looking forward to next years MOLIMA week”.
