"The Coronavirus pandemic has brought many new challenges for families. There are lots of things which families are now finding more difficult than usual. This may include paying the bills, buying food, managing behaviours at home, getting to work or keeping children busy during the day.

You don't need to struggle alone. Across Portsmouth, there are lots of ways to access a little extra help at this time. If you need to talk with someone you should:

1.    Speak with your social worker or other key worker, if you have one

2.    Contact your child's school or childcare setting - they will help and if needed, link you with someone who can help further

3.    Contact the health-visiting service if your child is under 5, or midwifery if you are pregnant/expecting. You can use the text messaging service: 07491 163 275 or call 0300 123 6629.

4.    If you don’t want to speak to your child's school/health worker - phone the Portsmouth City Council Helpdesk on 023 9283 4092 or by email cityhelpdesk@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.

5.    Contact your GP if you or your child is poorly - the NHS is open for business"

Home Learning

Please find below links to our home learning packs. These are published every Monday morning. If you cannot access any of the work then please contact:

       Infants - Mrs Buck (buckj@mayfield.portsmouth.sch.uk)

       Juniors - Miss Lewis (lewisj@mayfield.portsmouth.sch.uk)

       Seniors - Mr Gibson (gibsonr@mayfield.portsmouth.sch.uk)

There are guidelines in each home learning pack for how much time we would recommend pupils to spend on learning. Every child is different, however, and we would recommend doing what you think your child is capable of. For more help on getting the right balance a guide for parents about home learning can be found here.

Many thanks.
